    A: YOUR COMMUNITY. NOW. An Online service to create synergy and familiarity within your community. UmmahNow is focused to empower Muslim communities - individuals and organizations - in the U.S. to create dialogue and interaction with one another and is designed and dedicated to be a guiding, unifying force within American society through infrastructure services.
  • How do I subscribe to receive UmmahNow's digest?
    A: UmmahNow has an email list for each serviced region. To subscribe, please visit .... and subscribe by providing your email address.
  • What regions/areas are currently serviced by UmmahNow?
    A: UmmahNow is an extension of a Southern Californian service and is available in currently 4 separate areas: Greater Los Angeles (LA County, Orange County, and Inland Empire) and San Diego County in California, and Dallas Fort-Worth and Houston Texas as part of live-beta development
  • What/Who are regional moderators?
    A: Each community has a team of moderators that volunteer their time and are responsible for creating dialog and positive relationships in your community. You are encouraged to engage your regional moderator to work with them to create synergy.
  • Can I recommend adding a new region?
    A: UmmahNow is growing and you can vote to extend the service to your community. To do so, visit .... and vote for your city/area. We will extend our services based on what area(s) are most popularly requested.
  • How can I sponsor UmmahNow's activities?
    A: Our services are only as successful as our community finds a need for it. We will continue to work towards providing a valuable service. To find out how you can help us here.

Posting An Event:

  • What type of postings are prohibited?
    A: If it is "of interest" to the Muslims in your community, you'll find it here. We encourage positive relationships while maintaining mainstream, Muslim values.  Our current service is focused on aggregating various events in and around the Muslim Community. Please review the Terms of Use policy for additional information.
  • How can I post an event?
    A: Event posting is free and easy to everyone. One only requires an email address for security reasons. To post a new event, please mouse click on "Post an Event" on the top of any regional page. Please retain the event confirmation email to be able to update the venue information. Here is a guide to help you most effectively post your event to your community.
  • How do I update a venue?
    A: Venue information for an event can be updated by the initial author and/or hosting organization at anytime from the event details page. Updating an event requires a security code that is emailed out when an event is first posted. Please retain the event confirmation email. You can always request for the security key to be resent.
  • Can I add a flyer or a video teaser to my event?
    A: Yes. Adding a flyer, and especially a video teaser are both effective ways to advertise your event. A single youtube video can be included, as well as a total of 2 fliers are allowed per event. Each flier must be smaller than 300KB in file size.
  • Why do I need to provide my email address?
    A: An email address is required for security reasons. This email will be used to provide a security code in the case an event's venue information needs updating.
  • What are featured events?
    A: Featured upcoming events are moderator-selected events that are deemed important to the community to attend.
  • How can I feature my event?
    A: No action is required. Featured Events are designated at moderators discretion.

Flagging/Removing events:

  • What are the different flagging options?
    A: There are 4 different flagging options.
    a) Duplicate Event- To notify that the same event has been posted already
    b) Unauthorized- To notify that the event was intended for a private gathering
    c) Prohibited- To notify that the event information goes against the service policy
    d) Not an event- The posting is not an actual event
  • When does the event get removed from the list?
    A: An event is removed from the list when it is no longer active, or is flagged multiple times to be reviewed by the moderator.

Posting A Job Opportunity:

  • What type of postings are prohibited?
    A: The job board is available for the community to advertise professional or service opportunities. This is an effective way to reach out to the community. Please review the Terms of Use policy for additional information.
  • How can I post a job opportunity?
    A: Anyone can post an open opportunity. Please visit the Jobs page for your community. You will find a form that you can fill out after which your regional moderator will post for you.
  • How long are jobs posted?
    A: All opportunities will be posted for a minimum of 30 days unless if the position is filled earlier.
